The Google Pixel 7a is a mid-range Android smartphone released by Google in 2023. Available in Sea, Snow and Charcoal, this featured phone is the Sea-coloured variant. It comes with a 6.1-inch OLED display with Full HD+ resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels) and a pixel density of 429 ppi, providing crisp and vivid visuals. The display features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. At the centre top is a punch-hole cutout housing the front-facing camera. The bezels are symmetrical and reasonably slim. Aside from the Sea colour, Charcoal and Sea are also available.
Under the bonnet is the Google Tensor G2 processor built on a 4nm manufacturing process, offering better power efficiency over its predecessor. It ships with Android 13 out of the box along with a guarantee of at least 3 years of major OS and security updates from Google.
Design-wise, the Pixel 7a has an aluminium frame with a polycarbonate back said to be made from recycled bottles. The Sea colour variant has an attractive two-tone finish with a light top and a darker grey bottom. The rectangular camera module blends fluidly into the back panel. The phone weighs around 178g making it quite lightweight for a modern smartphone. With a thickness of 8.7mm, the Pixel 7a is slim and easy to grip in one hand. It retains the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack at the top which would please many audiophiles.
